PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Belleville employed our firm to prepare preliminary and final plans, specifications, and estimates for approximately 3,000 L.F. of asphalt resurfacing on 11th Street from Raab Avenue to West Main Street and on 3rd Street from Lincoln Street to the Canadian National Railroad crossing. A railroad crossing was also located on 11th Street and the approach grades to that crossing required extensive profile modification to improve the riding quality and accommodate low clearance emergency vehicles. The project included removal and replacement of areas of deteriorated concrete curb and sidewalk on both streets. The streets in the project area serve an elementary school, a community hospital, a commercial area and residential areas. The project cost was funded partially with a Community Development Block Grant administered by the St. Clair County Intergovernmental Grants Department.
