PROJECT DESCRIPTION: City of Sparta employed our firm to prepare preliminary and final plans, specifications, and estimates for reconstruction of 2,040 L.F. of McClurken Avenue. The project included the horizontal and vertical realignment of the roadway, relocation of a stream channel and relocation of water and sewer utilities. A Section 404 Permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers was required for the stream channel work. An NPDES Permit from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency was required for erosion control measures during construction. The urban roadway project was subject to review and approval by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Our firm was also retained to perform the construction services including construction staking, materials testing, construction observation and contract administration.
