PROJECT NAME: Silver Creek Preserve
OWNER: St. Clair County
LOCATION: St. Clair County, Illinois
CONSTRUCTION COST: $421,000
YEAR COMPLETED: 2005
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: St. Clair County employed our firm to prepare
preliminary and final plans, specifications, and estimates for the construction
of a Nature Preserve. The project was funded primarily by an OSLAD grant and
consists of a nature park with various species of flora and fauna and wetland
basins. The project included approximately 4,500 feet of asphalt paved walking
trail, pavilion, pit privy, concrete sidewalk, picnic tables, benches,
pedestrian bridges, kiosks, scenic overlook structure, refuse receptacles, site
signage, trees, shrubs, native grasses, wildflowers, wetland seeding and asphalt
paved access road and parking lot. During construction of the project, our firm
applied for and received additional funding to supplement the OSLAD grant. The
additional funding was used to improve the walking trail from an aggregate
surface to an asphalt paved surface. Our firm was also retained to perform full
