PROJECT NAME: St. Louis Street Improvements

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Lebanon employed our firm to prepare preliminary and final plans, specifications, and estimates for the improvement of a 1,010L.F. portion of St. Louis Street.  This portion of street is classified as a collector and is in a residential area but it is located adjacent to the downtown commercial district.  It also serves to carry local traffic to area schools and churches.  The project is funded with FHWA Surface Transportation Program (STP) Funds as administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.  The construction is being undertaken in two phases as two separate grants were used to fund the project.  Phase 1 was completed in 2007 and Phase 2 is scheduled for completion in 2011.  The work includes storm sewer pipe and inlet repair, concrete integral curb and gutter repair, aggregate base course, partial asphalt surface course, partial brick pavement surface, driveway repair, concrete sidewalk and brick sidewalk.  Our firm was also retained to perform the construction services including construction staking, materials testing, construction observation and contract administration.
