PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The City of Mt. Vernon employed our firm to provide construction inspection and testing for the improvement of Wells Bypass in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. The project included storm sewer, concrete curb and gutter, new three-lane concrete pavement, sidewalks, driveways and intersection reconstruction. The project was constructed under heavy traffic conditions within an industrial area. The construction cost was funded with Surface Transportation Program funds from the Federal Highway Administration.
